Meet Brycen Staner, a 9th grader at Our Lady of Lourdes who has been a dedicated member of our company for the past 11 months. Inspired by his Pap to serve the community, Brycen joined our Junior program to learn the ropes of the fire service. Whether he's working maintenance at the PSSA or training at the station, he brings a strong work ethic and a creative mind to everything he does.
At the firehouse, Brycen is most at home during hands-on drills. His favorite training activity is hitting the hydrant, and he's developed a particular interest in mastering "The Irons" (the axe and Halligan bar). He lives by the motto shared by Captain Fisher: "Go Hard or Go Home," a mindset he's using to fuel his "Big Goal" of eventually becoming a certified interior firefighter.
When he isn't training, you'll likely find Brycen fueling up on a firehouse burger and a Monster, or getting focused for a drill with Mötley Crüe's "Wild Side" on his playlist. We are proud to have Brycen in our ranks as he works toward his future in the fire service!
